FBI, Coast Guard request volunteers to search site of Kodiak killings

The Coast Guard and the FBI have put out a call for volunteers to help on Wednesday morning to search the grounds around the recent high-profile killings on Kodiak, the large island off of Alaska's southern cost.

The search will begin at 8 a.m. at the Coast Guard’s T2 building in Kodiak, also known as the Rigger Shop. The building is the site of the April 12 shootings of 41-year-old Petty Officer 1st Class James Hopkins, and Richard Belisle, 51, who was a former chief petty officer. Belisle was working for the Coast Guard at as a civilian employee. Both were gunned down. The FBI along with Alaska State Troopers and the Coast Guard are investigating.
