ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
Now that it appears large amounts of Japan tsunami debris are washing up on Alaska’s coastline, state and federal agencies are trying to figure out a plan for how to clean it all up.
It's costly, labor-intensive work and this summer there's only a small slice of money to pay for beach cleanup.
“It covers a very, very small portion of the state,” said Dave Gaudet, program manager for the Marine Conservation Alliance Foundation, a non-profit group that doles out federal dollars for Alaska beach cleanup each spring and summer.
