Alberta finance minister says politics got in the way of a good economic decision

TORONTO — Alberta's finance minister said Wednesday that U.S. politics trumped what should have been a no-brainer decision to approve a proposed oil pipeline from Alberta to Texas.

Last month, President Barack Obama's administration denied a permit for TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline, but left the door open for TransCanada to apply for a new pipeline route that avoids the state of Nebraska's environmentally sensitive Sandhills region.

OBAMA didn't stop anything. He said "Lets do check things out and make sure we are not doing the wrong thing."

Any oil produced from Canada is going to the gulf coast. From there 95% will be shipped overseas. The Canadian oil won't be used by Americans.

In addition to the above, the tar sands have to be processed when they get to the gulf to extract the oil. This requires natural gas to do the extraction. Canada was doing this, but the result was to cause natural gas costs to go up.

Lets just use the natural gas we have directly instead of using natural gas to extract oil from tar sands sent across America so it can be shipped overseas making money for the 1% that caused our financial problems.
