America’s political system in danger of coming apart like a busted cuckoo clock

After the Massachusetts Massacre and President Barack Obama’s speech on Wednesday, people have been asking “What’s up with government?” Here’s the deal:

The American system works like the pendulum in a grandfather clock, swinging back and forth, first to the right, then to the left, then back again. A swing to the right causes it — at the next election — to swing back again to the left, at least a little. And vice versa.
