The Alaska Redistricting Board is asking the Alaska Supreme Court to allow
the state to conduct this year's elections using a plan nixed by a Superior
Court judge earlier.
At stake is control of the Alaska Legislature. With
the Senate deadlocked 10-10 and being dominated by a coalition that has managed
to block important legislation such as oil tax reform, the upcoming election’s
outcome is beyond important.
