Somebody must be putting something in the water down at the Anchorage
Assembly. It voted Tuesday night to return more than $6 million to property
taxpayers in the city.
More amazing, the 9-2 vote to return the money to
taxpayers came after harrumphs from Mayor Dan Sullivan, who wanted to spend it
on city services, including about $2 million for soaring snow-removal costs for
this past record-breaking year, and fuel costs.
