For as long as we can remember, Secret Service members charged with guarding the president of the United States and his family have been considered the elite of the elite, the guys kids want to be like when they grow up.

Stable, heroic, dignified, ready to give their lives for the president and their country. Mind you, much of that may have been Hollywood invention and there have been exceptions such as drinking the night before John Kennedy was shot. They are, after all, as human as the rest of us.
