FAIRBANKS — The Legislature spent much time working over Gov. Sean Parnell’s performance scholarship program again this past session but finally delivered what the governor wanted — with just a few tweaks.
The changes complete a program that gives high school students great incentive to study hard, take challenging courses and get an advanced education. Other states have seen impressive results from similar programs. Now Alaska is well on its way toward the same.
