Editorial
Anchorage Assembly Chairman Ernie Hall is on the right track in urging the
hiring of a retired judge to determine what went wrong - and why it went wrong -
in the city’s April 3 election.
About 40 percent of the precincts ran
short of ballots, forcing some voters to use sample ballots or wait for more
ballots to be delivered. Other even had to go in search of ballots at other
polling places. Some said they gave up. All of that is astounding and does
nothing to shore up public confidence in government.
