Better accounting

As the Legislature’s oil and gas consultant, Pedro van Meurs, was telling two state Senate committees it would require industry investment of $7.5 billion a year to put 1 million barrels of oil daily through the trans-Alaska pipeline, it was interesting to take a look at what he said in 2007.

A Juneau Empire article Oct. 19, 2007, by Pat Forgey, detailed an eight-hour meeting between lawmakers and Van Meurs and another consultant on how to get the most from the state's declining oil resources.
